The Miss Peru organization hosted the coronation ceremony for Reina Hispanoamericana Peru 2022 on 28th May 2022 where Arlette Rujel won the title and was crowned as the new queen. The diva will now represent Peru at the Reina Hispanoamericana 2022 pageant in Bolivia this October.

The 22 year old diva hails from Callao and is inspired by two beauty queens Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray of Philippines and Lala Guedes of Brazil, who was the fourth runner-up at Miss Grand International 2020. The title was a dream come true for the queen.

“I always dreamed of that moment, of being crowned, especially I have always wanted to represent my country in an international competition. When they called my name as the winner of the pageant, I couldn’t believe it. Tears came to my eyes, and I was like, ‘Really, me?’ Everything was like a movie and I saw everything in slow motion,” Arlette shared.

She further added, “I am traveling in October, and of course, I am going to bring the crown. I am very committed. I really want to bring the crown to Peru and I know I can do it because I work hard, so the crown comes with me anyway.” The diva also shared her thoughts on the ongoing criticism and favoritism allegations doing the rounds as she said, “They always say that money dances the monkey, that competitions are bought, but to be honest … I have no money to buy a crown.”

Arlette succeeds Reina Hispanoamericana Peru 2021 Alice Cedron for the title and will prepare for her international stint at the Reina Hispanoamericana 2022. Reina Hispanoamericana is an annual beauty pageant celebrating Hispanic heritage, language and culture. The reigning Reina Hispanoamericana queen is Andrea Bazarte of Mexico.
