Camila Escribens, much to the amazement of the pageant fanatics, has entered Miss Perú 2023 as one of the official delegates. The 24-year-old is giving a third try at the national competition to win the chance to represent her country at a platform such as Miss Universe. The only question is whether third time will be a charm for her at Miss Peru.

A Peruvian-American model, Camila was born in Lima, Peru and lived in Miami, Florida, USA. Camila attended Clovis North High School in Fresno, CA. For several weeks, Camila’s social media was filled with requests from all over the pageantry to give it a third chance.

Her pageant experience began in 2019 as she represented the Peruvian community in the United States as Miss Peru USA at Miss Perú 2019 which was held on 21st October 2018. At the end of the event finale, she became the first runner-up where she was adjudged Miss Grand Peru 2019. Camila represented her country at Miss Grand International 2019 where she placed in the Top 10 with her exemplary performance.

She again competed at Miss Peru 2021 where she was adjudged as Miss Supranational Peru 2020 but withdrew from Miss Supranational 2021 competition due to her health problems and advice from her doctors.

Camila suffered from a brain disease, brain AVM i.e. a tangle of abnormal blood vessels connecting arteries and veins in the brain. The arteries are responsible for taking oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the brain. Veins carry the oxygen-depleted blood back to the lungs and heart. A brain AVM disrupts this vital process.

But now, Camila seems more than ready to take on the national competition Miss Peru 2023 as she has the experience, the personality and stunning beauty to represent Peru at an international stage such as Miss Universe. With the new ownership, Miss Universe organization is looking for a ‘transformational queen’ and Camila definitely suits the role.
