The finalists of Miss Philippines Earth 2017 are getting ready to make their mark at the finale scheduled to be held on 15th July 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena. They have been busy in several productive and creative activities. Recently, the contestants went through some pre-judging competitions held on July 9' 2017 at Diamond Hotel Manila.
They were judged on the basis of intelligence and environmental awareness. The contestants answered confidently and had to prove that they are more than just physical beauty in the last round. The judges asked them what they are doing to conserve the environment.
They tested their knowledge on environment in the pre-judging. Miss Philippines Earth is one such competition that gives the highest percentage to intelligence, taking up 30% of the total score.
The scope for judges was:
30% intelligence
35% beauty
20% form & figure
10% poise
5% attitude
The panel of esteemed judges included: Miss Philippines Earth 2006 Catherine Untalan-Vital, Environment Department Asec, Rommel Abesamis and Foreign Affairs Department Director Raymund Toledo.
“They're getting better every year, girls are getting more aware of situation, getting good girls who are so passionate, they're not just here to be a beauty queen,”Lorraine Schuck, Miss Philippines Earth organizer said.
The winner will then represent Philippines at the prestigious Miss Earth 2017 beauty contest.
