Miss Earth Philippines 2020, the first virtual edition of Miss Earth Philippines will crown the winner virtually for the first time ever. The winner will represent Philippines at Miss Earth 2020. Miss Earth Philippines 2019 Janelle Lazo Tee will be succeeded at the end of the event. The delegates from all over have started to prepare for the competition as the pageant conducted the preliminary competitions recently.
Miss Philippines Earth aims to give a strong emphasis on environmental awareness programs and the delegates actively promote and get involved in the preservation of the environment and protection of Mother Earth. Recently the organization had conducted the pre-pageant activities via zoom call where all the delegates performed exceptionally well. But one of the delegate Marie Sherry Ann Tormes that has stood out in all the activities and is emerging as a potential winner for Miss Philippines Earth 2020 and if she wins, she will represent the Philippines at Miss Earth.
Shane Quintana Tormes is representing Atimonan, Quezon at the competition. She is 28-years-old and stands 167 cm tall and works as an events’ host and singer. She is one of the fan favorites for the title and has shown immense determination for winning the position at Miss Earth 2020 stage as a representative of the Philippines. She is very passionate about beauty pageants and feels like she s ready to showcase her skills and abilities to everyone.
Shane was raised by her grandparents who instilled the values that have been her anchor to this day. She remembers her grandma, who was a teacher, tagging her along in different outreach activities that opened her eyes to life's difficult reality. And with this, she felt that blessings are meant to be shared to inspire people and better their lives. After her grandma's death, Shane committed herself to following the footsteps and continue the vision of her beloved grandmother. It is one of the reasons why Shane aspires to be Miss Philippines Earth 2020 so that she can inspire people and help them to work toward a better life.
Shane is not new to pageantry as she participated at Binibining Pilipinas 2018 and was appreciated for her performance but unfortunately made it to only Top 25 at the event finale. Since then, Shane has worked very hard and has stayed focused towards her goal which to inspire people and represent the Philippines at international stage. Shane is one determined fighter who has paid her pageant dues the hard way.
One of the things that Shane remembers as her memorable moments is when she spent her birthday with less fortunate children from a rural area in Camarines Sur. Her advocacy is sustainable eco-tourism. She wants to combine her passion for travelling and helping others while exploring and enjoying environment in its full potential without destroying it. She is very confident, strong, and dedicated towards winning.
During the pre-pageant activities, she won awards for Best in Casual Wear, Best in Beach Wear, singing talent competition, and is now vying for the Miss Philippines Earth title. She is prepping herself for the competition by working on her walk, body angles, body postures, confidence, and communication.
