Jonét Nichelle of North Providence Rhode Island was crowned Miss Rhode Island USA 2020 on October 6th 2019 at Park Theatre in Rhode Island Theatre of the Performing Arts. Jonet will be representing Rhode Island at the Miss USA 2020 during the spring of 2020.
Jonét Nichelle is 25 years old with a degree of Bachelors of Science in Human Services. Jonet worked as a mentor after school program, which provided services for children who had behavioural and mental health problems. After graduating, Jonet soon became a member of the New England Patriots Cheerleading. Because of the New England Patriots Cheerleading, Jonet travelled to St. Maatren’s to shoot their annual swimsuit

Jonét has been involved with beauty pageantry since she was 10 months old. She participated in the Miss Universe organization and was in the top 5 at 2012 Miss Connecticut Teen USA. She currently works full time at Fuller Hospital as a mental health specialist and is a graduate pursuing her Master’s degree in Social work.
The 25-year-old model always maintained a healthy lifestyle since school. In 2016, the model lost her grandfather to cancer. To recover from the loss of losing her support system, she decided to enter fitness competition, self-training and ultimately placing. Her achievements have increased and her passion for fitness and strengthened the connection between mental and physical health.

Jonet is an influential advocate for the LGBTQ community and the founder of “This is her; she is me”. Jonet is a domestic violence survivor and she has always been strong and firm for any women who needs help or guidance. She has attended various support groups and women shelters to share her story and plans to grow her organization.
Along with Jonet Nichelle, Sofia Ledoux was crowned Miss Rhode Island Teen USA 2020. The two will be representing the state of Rhode Island on Miss USA 2020 and Miss USA Teen 2020 respectively.
