The organization of Miss Slovenia hosted the ceremony for Miss Slovenia 2020/2021 on 27th June 2021 in Hrastnik, where Maja Colic was crowned as the new queen and will now represent Slovenia at Miss World 2021 to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Maja succeeded Miss Slovenia 2019 Špela Alic for the title.

Maja, after crowning, took to her social media to share, "My dear ones, I am still under a huge impression from yesterday's events, but I still want to contact you as MISS SLOVENIA 2020/21! First, thank you to my golden team, Miss Slovenia, thank you to the business partners for their trust, and thank you all for your support and kind words! I will do my best to represent Slovenia in the best possible light, and to contribute my stamp by which you will remember me. "

Hailing from Ribnica, Maja is 21-years-old. She is a student in the field of Social Work and will graduate in September. She plans to obtain her master's degree after graduation so she can fulfil her goal of becoming a psychotherapist. She is very excited and feels honoured to be representing Slovenia at Miss World 2021.

Maja became an ambassador of the project "With you can", which takes place under the auspices of the Protection Work Center (VDC) Zasavje. She will advocate for a more inclusive society. The VIP Zasavje project carries an important message in it – VIP – Inclusive Innovative Connected Zasavje. She wants to draw attention to how very important it is that we all have the same opportunities in life. VIP Zasavje is therefore an innovative concept of integrating vulnerable groups into society.

The diva also mentioned, "I entered the beauty pageant without expectations, but with a clear goal-to stay true to myself and take advantage of all the opportunities and opportunities. I put in a lot of effort and this one paid off in the end. This, after all, is not the end at all, but only the beginning. I am ready and I know this will be my year! "

Maja is strong, confident, and dedicated towards her goal, which is to make Slovenia proud and use the platform given to her in the best way possible. She has started to prepare for the competition and is focusing on finessing her skills and abilities for the competition.
