Miss South Africa 2017 is on its road to the finale. Miss South Africa is a national pageant that selects South Africa’s representatives for Miss Universe and Miss World pageants. The winner not just earns the right to represent the country at both Miss World and Miss Universe pageants, but is also involved in promotional work and celebrity appearances locally and abroad where she gets to meet dignitaries, celebrities, the privileged, the underprivileged, the sick and the needy.
The 2017 edition is on and 26 semi-finalists have already been shortlisted, out of which only 12 will advance to the finalists list. The 12 will finally compete for the coveted title of Miss South Africa 2017. The 26 semi-finalists of Miss South Africa 2017 are –

The Top 12 will be selected via public votes. The contestants who receive the maximum number of votes will step ahead to the Top 12 finalists list. The finale of Miss South Africa 2017 is slated to be held on 25th March 2017.

The pageant commenced in the year 1956, when Norma Vorster was crowned Miss South Africa 1956, who represented SA at Miss World 1956. South Africa won its first Miss World title as early as 1958, when Penelope Anne Coelen was crowned Miss World 1958. The second Miss World title for South Africa was in 1974 when Anneline Kriel was awarded Miss World 1974, after the originally crowned Miss World Helen Morgan from UK resigned. And then after a gap of 40 years, Rolene Strauss won the third Miss World title for South Africa in the year 2014.
