Miss South Africa Organization had recently announced that the organization will host the coronation ceremony virtually where the winner will be crowned in the first weekend of August as the country starts to celebrate Women’s Month. The entertainment-packed pageant will be broadcasted live on both M-Net and Mzansi Magic.

The organization also announced that the pageant is going under dramatic and exciting changes for the new decade. These changes are all part of an ongoing drive by the Miss South Africa organisation to grow the Miss South Africa brand and keep it relevant in today’s world. Rebranding includes the launch of a new logo with the tagline: Face Your Power. Embrace Your Future.

And now for the first time in the history of the Miss South Africa pageant, the top three finalists will represent the country at the world's three most prestigious pageants i.e., Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss Supranational. South Africa has sent entrants before to Miss Supranational beauty pageant, but this will be the first time under the official Miss South Africa Organisation banner.

CEO of the Miss South Africa Organisation, Stephanie Weil explains, "We are delighted that a third finalist (the second runner-up) will now be able to shine on the international stage. Once Miss South Africa 2020 is crowned in August, and the two runners-up are announced, we will decide which candidate would do the best at which competition."

Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski, President of the Miss Supranational Organisation stated, "It is with great pride and pleasure that we welcome the Miss South Africa Organisation as the newest member of the Supra family. Miss South Africa has a long history of launching the careers of many phenomenal women. We have been extremely impressed by the transformation the brand has undergone in the past year and we are looking forward to welcoming one of the top 3 of the 2020 competition to the 12th edition of Miss Supranational."

The online entries for Miss South Africa 2020 have already been started from Monday and individuals can enter the pageant through Miss South Africa’s website. The Miss South Africa Organization decided on going virtual due to the pandemic. The organization introduced the entry process online to reach more candidates. Miss South Africa pageant moved a part of its selection process online in 2019, something that Stephanie says will continue in 2020. "We are fortunate that we started the online process in 2019 and intend to bring this to the forefront of what we are going to do this year.” The organization cleared that the main goal is to make Miss South Africa attainable and through online interaction this will make it easier rather than harder. They strongly believe that this year people will be engaging with and listening to the young woman who eventually holds the title of Miss South Africa 2020 more than ever.
