At the conclusion of the grand finale of Miss Finland 2017 held at the Kalastajatorppa in Helsinki, Michaela Söderholm was crowned Miss Suomi 2017 (Miss Finland 2017 or Miss Universe Finland 2017). She will now represent Finland in the Miss Universe 2017 pageant to be held later this year. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Finland 2016 Shirly Karvinen

Michaela is 25 years of age and stands tall at 173 cm. She bested nine other candidates to clinch the title of Miss Suomi 2017 (Miss Finland 2017). She has completed her graduation in business studies. She also applied for Miss Finland last year but could not compete since the age limit for Miss Finland was 24 years. However, the age limit for this year's competition was raised to 26 years so she got the chance to compete this year and finally managed to win the title. She has also participated in various regional pageants prior to competing in Miss Finland 2017.

I dreamed about this since childhood. It feels great! It was a pleasure for the dream to work. Now it was rewarded and I will give my best”, Micahela said after her victory.

At the same event, Adriana Gerxhalija was crowned Miss World Finland 2017 and Pihla Koviu was crowned Miss International Finland 2017. They will represent their country in Miss World 2017 and Miss International 2017 respectively. Adriana and Pihla succeed Miss World Finland 2016 Heta Sallinen and Miss International Finland 2016 Emilia Seppänen respectively.

Miss Finland 2017 crowned its winners

Michaela, Pihla and Adriana were also amongst our Top 5 favourites for Miss Finland 2017.

Finland has till date won two Miss Universe, one Miss World and one Miss International title. Armi Kuusela of Finland won the first ever edition of Miss Universe held on June 28' 1952. She was just 17 when she was crowned Miss Universe 1952. Finland won its second Miss Universe title after a gap of 23 years when 19-years old Anne Marie Pohtamo was crowned Miss Universe 1975 on July 19' 1975.

Do you think this year any one of the winners will be able to win an international title for Finland?
