Meet Emily DeMure Miss Colorado USA 2020 for Miss USA 2020

Emily DeMure of Boulder was crowned Miss Colorado USA 2020 at Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley. The 21-year-old DeMure will be representing the state of Colorado for the title of Miss USA 2020. She succeeded Miss Colorado USA 2019 Madison Dorenkamp. The coronation night was held on 27th October 2019.

A senior at the University of Colorado Boulder and member of the PAC-12 Division I Volleyball team, DeMure is prepping up to graduate with a Major in Sociology and Minor in Arts Practices in 2020. She is ambitious in achieving high standards academic, athletic and achievement awards.

Emily DeMure believes in the mindset that speaks “Seek first to understand, seek next to be understood”.  She feels that she can be a very strong and passionate role model to women who tirelessly & relentlessly want to pursue their dreams and ambitions.

Coming from an athletic background, the 21-year old Miss Colorado 2020 joined hands with the head commissioner of The PAC 12 Conference. At the PAC 12 Media Day, she challenged the negative stereotypes faced by female athletes. She implemented a Change.org petition to bring in the change for women just like her.

Apart from being flawless on the runway and standing up for what she feels is right, Emily enjoys hiking, healthy baking, yoga, coaching her youth Volleyball team and serving at Flatirons Community Church. She is the face of the Team IMPACT that works for the welfare of chronically ill children.

Along with her, Yasaswaini Uppalapti of Denver was crowned Miss Colorado Teen USA 2020 and will now represent her province in Miss Teen USA 2020. Miss USA 2020 competition will be held on the spring of 2020. Cheslie Kryst of North Carolina is currently the head below the crown and she will be passing it onto her successor at the end of the event.
