Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere has finally reached her native France and the beauty queen was welcomed with lot of vigour and excitement. The beauty queen touched the French soil on 16th March. Iris was welcomed by the National Director of Miss France Sylvie Tellier at the airport. The biggest surprise for Iris was to see her mother, Laurence Druart.
Iris ended France’s 63 year long drought at Miss Universe pageant by winning the crown on 30th January 2017. Since then, Iris has been occupied with interviews, fashion weeks and various other events. Now that the beauty queen is back to France, she has already started her media tour. On Thursday, Iris was invited to the noon show of Jean-Pierre Pernaut on TF1. She described her emotion of returning to France, and also shared her life experience in New York, during the show.

Iris also said that her life has changed enormously, as she gets to travel a lot after winning the crown. She also added that although she gets to travel a lot, she misses her country. Below is the schedule to Iris’ further activities...

Miss France Organization, headed by Sylvie Tellier (also a former Miss France titleholder) has planned a meeting with the French President François Hollande in a yet to be confirmed date.
After kicking off her duties as Miss Universe 2016, Iris was spotted vacationing in Bali, Indonesia. The French beauty queen reached Bali, Indonesia, where she enjoyed a sunny respite from the cold winter up north. The newly crowned Miss universe was seen enjoying the beaches, the sunshine and was spotted taking sun-bath in the scenic beauty of Bali.

Iris recently visited the Latino Commission on AIDS and Smile Train. Iris has previously stated that she will be carrying forward former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach’s advocacy of spreading awareness on AIDS and working on the measures for curbing the incurable disease. Smile Train is the charity providing corrective surgery for children with cleft lips and palates. Smile Train was created in 1998 by Brian Mullaney and Charles Wang, who had previously worked with Operation Smile, another charity focused on correcting cleft lips and palates.
