Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere brought an end to the 64 years long drought of France at Miss Universe pageant. Her victory was well deserved and we can rightfully say that there was no one more suitable for the title than Iris. After winning the coveted title, it’s now time for the beauty queen to indulge in the activities as the reigning Miss Universe.
On Thursday afternoon, Iris left the country to travel to New York. Iris was seen barding the flight, with Miss Universe head Paula Shugart, to New York, where she will be based throughout her reign. Iris is a dental student, and said that her platform as Miss Universe will revolve around promoting dental and oral hygiene, as well as spreading awareness for HIV/AIDS.

Iris' plane departed at 4 pm from NAIA Terminal 2, for New York, and the beauty queen will now be roommates with Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber. As she walked out of the airport's presidential suite, Iris gave the press a message for the Filipinos: "Thank you, I love you, and I will miss you all!" She also said that she is going to visit the country “very soon.”
Iris Mittenaere succeeds Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. 23 year old Iris hails from the capital of fashion, Paris. She was born in a town known as Lille, which is located North of France. The stunning beauty stands at an astounding height of 5’ 8” and has a degree in Dental Surgery. No wonder, her best feature is her gorgeous smile!
