How come Miss Universe pageant be over without a bunch of controversies? The 65th edition of the Miss Universe pageant came to a conclusion on 30th January 2017 with the crowning of Iris Mittenaere. But it seems like she is not only the one who is the talk of the town right now. Miss Universe Romania Teodora Dan has been facing criticism following her swimsuit round.
Romanian beauty Teodora Dan has been labelled as a ‘ridiculous hooker’ over her on stage saucy antics as she competed for the MU pageant. Critics have gone as far as calling her a ‘whore’. The beauty queen has been labelled as a ‘whore’ and a ‘hooker’, apparently for her revealing beauty pageant outfits. If reports are to be believed, the beauty queen was accused of bringing shame to her country, after walking the stage of MU in a nude coloured two piece.
One of the spiteful comments read, “She is so ugly, and who chose this outfit? Were they blind? This isn’t what women wear, like she said. She looks like a hooker.” Another comment read, “She has the body of a mother, not of a young woman.” Others joked that the show’s costume designers had “stitched her up”.
Talking about her swimsuit, one commented, “It is a strange swimsuit. On our beaches if you came in a bra and bikini people would laugh at you.” The comments were also in relation to Teodora’s photoshoots that have been circulating online. However, this is not the first time a beauty queen is being criticised. Zara Holland and Danielle Lloyd also attracted mean comments previously and have been stripped of their crowns.
No response has come from Teodora, so it is hard to say if she has seen the comments or not. Teodora has not responded to CEN’s request for comment.
