An historic win and a heartwarming homecoming for India’s pride, Harnaaz Sandhu who is finally back home with the crown and title of Miss Universe 2021 as she landed in Mumbai on 17th March 2022. India’s ‘sherni’ was the 21st woman to win the prestigious title, following Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000. While the entire country rejoiced in her win, the homecoming was definitely a grand celebration.
The diva received a warm welcome with Punjabi ‘dhol’ and ‘nagada’ at the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai. Harnaaz was greeted with the highest respect and hospitality, as well as some delectable meals. Her first day of homecoming was remarkable. She was also attended a press conference where she like a true queen inspired young minds with her wise words.
Thrilled to be back home, her win was celebrated as she inaugurated the Mumbai's new landmark, the Fountain of Joy at the Jio World Centre, making a royal entrance in a ‘Palkhi’, which is like a passenger conveyance, usually for one person, consisting of a covered or box like litter carried by means of poles resting on the shoulders of several men, formerly used by the royalties.
The crowd chanted Chak de Phatte as they welcomed our universe queen. An emotional and overwhelmed Harnaaz celebrated the victory with the media and her fans. Harnaaz ended her tour of the city of Mumbai at the iconic, new destination- The Fountain of Joy.
Last night, Vineet Jain, the managing director of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd hosted a lavish welcome party for the queen at Mumbai's Estella to celebrate her victory. The queen wore a shimmery black dress and the Miss Universe sash.
Bringing the world to a standstill and making every Indian proud, all eyes are set on the queen as to what next she has in store to inspire and change the world.
