Daria Varlamova recently revealed her national costume for the preliminary competition on ‘The Morning Show’, an Australian morning talk show. Jonté Designs, in collaboration with Atelier Eight Millinery, designed and created the Miss Universe Australia National Costume. Featuring the magnificence of Australia with huge vistas of oceans juxtaposed with red land and vivid local plants, this exhibition celebrates mother nature's natural gifts.
With a brilliant colour palette inspired from Broome's coastline, Kununurra's stunning Bungle-Bungles, gorges, and towering waterfalls, this Australian National Costume takes you on an excursion through the picturesque Kimberley.
Continue on to the Northern Territory, where you'll find enormous swaths of wilderness and spectacular scenery. Combine it with some of Australia’s most beautiful and unique native botanicals, including the Golden Wattle, Kangaroo Paw, Eucalyptus, and Geraldton Wax, to create a stunning display. The dazzling Australian ocean and mineral-rich soils make for shimmering highlights.
The Kangaroo Paw motifs are hand beaded and richly encrusted and moulded to the figure on this outfit. Handcrafted decorations of Golden Wattle and Eucalyptus complete the look. For a refined couture finish, approximately 200 hours of delicate handwork were put in. 40 metres of Silk Organza in waterfall swirls in country’s natural treasures colour palette make for the sleeves extravaganza. With nearly 60 metres of soft tulle, a cascading skirt in subtle blues glides from the earthy inspired bodice to marine vistas.
A natural bouquet of magnificent Golden Wattle, Geraldton Wax, Eucalyptus flower, and Kangaroo Paws adorns the headpiece, the distinctive shapes reminiscent of the awe-inspiring Bungle Bungles, and is adorned with 8,500 Zahira crystals. Crystal haloes finish the sculpture, paying homage to Australia's mineral-rich landscapes.
