The 71st edition of the Miss Universe pageant, i.e., Miss Universe 2022 is scheduled to be held later this year where delegates from all over the world will compete for the coveted crown. At the end of the event, the reigning Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu of India will crown her successor.
While the final details are yet to be announced, the Miss Universe organization has officially sent out an e-mail to national directors all over the world to elect their representatives for the 71st Miss Universe competition by 12th September 2022.
As most countries are in the process of electing their new representative for the upcoming competition, some queens have already emerged as strong forces and potential front runners for this year’s edition of the international pageant. So without any further ado, here are the delegates emerging as Powerhouses for Miss Universe 2022 –
Amanda Dudamel of Venezuela
Amanda Dudamel was crowned Miss Venezuela 2021 at the national final held on 28th October 2021 as was designated as the country’s official representative for Miss Universe 2022. 24 years old Amanda studied her professional career in fashion design in the city of Rome, Italy. She is the Creative Director of Made in Petare, an accessories brand that was created to financially support the ‘Un Par Por Un Sueño’ foundation.
Through her profession, Amanda contributes to the work of the foundation where more than 1000 children are fed daily in different dining rooms in Petare (Venezuela). They also include mothers as part of the process, offering them training and job opportunities that allow them to empower themselves and support their families financially. In addition to English, she also is fluent in Italian and Spanish.
Amanda has the confidence, aura and determination to succeed in the pageant world. Her journey has been inspiring as she will make a strong representation.
Maria Fernanda Aristizabal of Colombia
Maria Fernanda Aristizabal was appointed Miss Universe Colombia 2022 by the national organization on 6th April, 2022 in Medellin and will soon be crowned in a special ceremony on 23rd July 2022. As Miss Colombia 2019, she was supposed to represent Colombia at Miss Universe 2020, but due to some organizational issues the diva was unable to do so.
Maria holds a degree in social communication from Luis Amigó Catholic University of Medellin. Aristizabal has a beautiful way of looking at the world. She also enjoys making makeup tutorials, and dancing and strongly advocates for mental health. She is experienced, strong, and passionate and definitely has some unfinished business as Colombia’s representative, which she hopes to fulfill with her full potential.
Irma Miranda of Mexico
The newest queen in the league, Irma Miranda was crowned Mexicana Universal 2022 on 21st May 2022 at San Luis Potosí Convention Center. 25-year-old Irma is studying Business Administration and is also working as a Technician in Agribusiness.
Irma Miranda was the first finalist in NBM 2016, and this year the diva has returned stronger and more passionate about representing the country on the international platform. She inspired others to never give up and follow their dreams and take advantage of every moment to grow, learn and raise your voice.
Celeste Cortesi of Philippines
Silvia Celeste Cortesi was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2022 on 30th April 2022 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. Celeste is 24 years of age who works as a model and a future licensed real estate broker. She is a cross-over delegate this year as she represented Philippines at the Miss Earth 2018 competition and was placed among the Top 8 finalists with a stellar performance throughout.
Celeste aspires to be role model especially to young women to not just look and focus on perfection but to embrace themselves as a whole. The diva has learned to value hard-work, resilience and dedication at a very young age. With her experience in the national pageantry and already having represented her country at Miss Earth, Celeste is definitely a strong contender for the delegation.
