According to the rehearsals that happened yesterday and a few contestants who spoke about it on their social media, Miss Universe will have a new format for the 71st edition of Miss Universe finale. While changes are good and almost always appreciated, the new format might not go down with the audience as easily as expected.

However, the confirmation has not been made. According to the new format, the evaluation will be TOP 16 - TOP 5 - TOP 3 – WINNER. Top 16 will walk in both swimsuit and evening gown, top 5 (Q/A) and top 3 (Statements) will be two speaking rounds and then the winner will be chosen.

From Top 16 to directly Top 5 will be a difficult decision for the audience to take as well as the jury to decide. With the new ownership under JKN Global Group, a few changes were expected anyway. However, since there is no confirmation, it could be the old format only which everyone is familiar with.

Miss Universe 2022, the 71st Miss Universe pageant, will be held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on 14th January 2023. Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu of India will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
