Miss Universe Colombia 2020 is now under the guidance of national director Natalie Ackermann, and the new requirements for a potential candidate was announced few months ago. The organization and the pageant fanatics have been trying to look for a potential candidate for representing Colombia at Miss Universe 2020 stage. Miss Universe Colombia decided to branch out from Senorita Colombia Organization very recently.
The organization had previously shortlisted talented women from across the country who had sent their application to the organization and showcased their zeal to represent the country at Miss Universe stage. The shortlisted women faced their first live litmus test or the casting process as one may call in Bogotá on 26th- 27th September 2020 as they were evaluated by the jury and Natalie Ackermann, the president of Miss Universe Colombia, who will finally choose the candidate from the departments in which the most women signed up.
Some of the candidates that stood out at the casting process held in Bogotá were Juliana Franco for Meta, Valeria Ayos for San Andre´s, Yeraldin Grajales for Quindi´o, Michelle Montan~ez for Boyaca´, Paola Kazaran for Casanare, Genesis Quintero for Arauca, etc. The divas have performed exceptionally well in their face-to-face interview with the jury and has impressed not only the judges but the pageant fanatics too. The final casting will continue 30th September 2020 in Bucaramanga and in October they will visit the city of Neiva on 2nd to 4th and from there they will go to Cali, on 6th October. They will be in Medellín on 8th October to finish in Barranquilla on 10th October. After each of the representatives is chosen, the event will officially begin, which is still unknown how it will develop in the framework of the pandemic.
Alfredo Barraza, Fabian Chacon, and Luis Arguinzones were the judges alongside Natalie Ackermann, the president of Miss Universe Colombia the in the casting session in Bogota. It had been announced a few days earlier that Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray from Philippines will be in Colombia during November this year as a Smile Train Ambassador and will also be joining the Miss Universe Colombia 2020 contestants in their activities.
