The 69th edition of Miss Universe i.e., Miss Universe 2020 will be held on 16th May 2021 Hotel Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, USA. The competition will be held in the span of 7 days and all safety precautions for Covid-19. Recently the organization announced its collaboration with Choicely to give the contestants’ family, friends and supporters a chance to vote for them to be a Top 21 finalist at the competition via the Miss Universe App.

The delegate profiles were made public on the app and the voting for Top 21 of Miss Universe has been going on for 3 days now, but surprisingly netizens and pageant fans noticed the exclusion of three delegates including Croatia, Bulgaria and Myanmar because of the pandemic situations in the countries. The non-incorporation of these countries generates disadvantages for the girls.

Few hours ago, Miss Universe Croatia 2020, Mirna Naiia Maric, decided to stand up against the injustice and cried foul for unfair voting system as she was not included in the Miss Universe voting platform. The claim was put forward via her Instagram story, expressing her displeasure she wrote, “Dear friends, family and fans of The Miss Universe organization; in spite of the extraordinary situation with COVID-19 that has reflected on the way the pageant will be held, I feel that a great injustice has been done to me. The voting for the Top 21 has started and I am sad to inform you that Croatia has not even been put up on the list. With this act I do not feel that I have equal stance with the other countries and it breaks my heart.”

She also requests the Miss Universe organization to at least postpone the voting for at least a week since in this peculiar situation, each day can decide on whether or not some countries attend the pageant.

While all the fans and followers hope for the organization to fix the glitch or postpone the process, we hope this doesn’t discourage Mirna from competing, instead motivates her to work harder and prove her worth at the competition.
