Miss Universe 2016 is on its road to the finale and is slated to be held on 30th January 2017 and at the conclusion of the finale, Pia Wurtzbach of Philippines will crown her successor. While the pageant has already kicked off, the delegates are leaving no stone unturned to mark their niche at the pageant. The contestants have arrived and the excitement is being felt.
A total of 86 contestants are vying for the coveted title this year, and the competition is definitely tough. Talking about the contestants, let’s talk about Guyana’s representative for the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Soyini Fraser has been selected as Guyana’s representative for the 65th Miss Universe. 26 year old Soyini comes from Georgetown. As a true Tauras woman, Soyini is strong, practical and reliable. Soyini with her big beautiful eyes is eyeing the Miss Universe crown.
Soyini is a media personality and an executive producer of her own television series. If you thought that is it, wait till you hear this. Soyini is also a professionally trained dancer and actress. The beauty queen is an aspiring Christian Child Psychologist and has been working with elderly and children who are less fortunate. Soyini has been working towards empowering them through mentorship. This Guyanese beauty is recognized as a Special Ambassador by the Guyana Tourism Authority.
Soyini recently unveiled her National Costume for the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Miss Universe Guyana's national costume is entitled "The Coconut Queen" and was inspired by a painting at the 2016 Guyana Coconut Festival done by Courtney Douglas. This year, the contestants have gone a notch up and have been coming up with unique ideas for the National Costumes.
