Miss Universe Laos organization appointed Christina Lasasimma as the new Miss Universe Laos 2020 on 18th March 2021 during a press conference held in Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel. She will represent Laos at Miss Universe 2020 scheduled to be held on 16th May 2021 in Hollywood, United States. The beauty queen succeeded Miss Universe Laos 2019 Vichitta Phonevilay for the title. She was one of the front runners for the title and was finally appointed to represent her country at international beauty competition.
Hailing from Vientiane, Christina Lasasimma is 27-years-old. She is a professional model of Belarusian descent, who has studied to be a programmer and happens to be under the auspices of a modelling agency in Thailand. She is excited to represent her country at Miss Universe 2020 and believes that her experience and knowledge of the beauty pageant world will help her win the title for Laos.
Christina is not new to the beauty pageant world as she won Miss Laos 2012 before she decided to pursue a career as a professional model in Thailand. She is famous and highly appreciated by the pageant fanatics for her confidence, strong uphold on-stage and dedication towards her goals which is not to win the first Miss Universe crown for Laos.
The beauty queen would use the platform to focus on women empowerment and equality, and what she especially wants to focus on are problems of teen girls being given into marriage, early pregnancy, and dropping out of school due to poverty in the rural areas. She also wants to use her voice to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. In 2013, she was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador to the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) in Laos. She joins a group of celebrities around the world who volunteer as Good Will Ambassadors to promote the key values and messages of the United Nation agencies.
The diva is strong, confident, empowered, and focused towards performing her best on-stage and making the people of Laos proud. She is grateful to have people who support her and motivate her towards anything she aspires for. She looked stunning during the press conference where she was appointed Miss Universe Laos 2020 and her charm, beautiful smile, and confident walk has managed to impress people across the world as she emerges out to be a strong contender for the title.
