Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 Final Hot Picks

Miss Universe Malaysia 2020, the 58th edition of Miss Universe Malaysia pageant, is scheduled to be held on 5th September 2020 at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur with eighteen finalists are set to compete for the national title and get the opportunity to represent Malaysia in Miss Universe 2020. Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 Shweta Sekhon will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

Besides the crown and the privilege to represent Malaysia in Miss Universe 2020, the winner will also receive a cash prize and sponsored prizes with combined value of RM 180,000 and a full education scholarship from HELP University.

Before the pageant officially begins, we have selected our final 5 delegates who we think can be a frontrunner in the competition and win the crown. So, let’s look at the final hot picks for Miss Universe Malaysia 2020:

Chloe Ching (Chloe) from Kuala Lumpur

Chloe is 24-years-old and stands 165cm tall and is pursuing Biochemistry. The diva was sent out to boarding school in Singapore at the age of 14 and she feels blessed to have the opportunity to have an education and to be able to see the world out there. She has immense gratitude towards her family for all the hard work and sacrifice in sending her abroad for studies. She is very patient and optimistic in life and very social and caring towards other people. Chloe’s advocacy is emphasized on having a positive and balanced mindset towards people who are in need, regardless of how they look as well as their insecurities. She would like to boost their confidence and help them realize that they are original and a whole induvial. Confidence is the best look anyone can have. So why not empower yourself to be the best you can be.

Adelina Chan Yin Ling (Adelina) from Penang

Adelina Chan is 26-years-old and stands 168cm tall with a degree in hospitality management. She works as a radio announcer and mermaid coach who describes herself as a curious adventurer who enjoys shooting commercials, acting, hosting and outdoor sports. She is passionate about beauty pageants and wants to use the platform to advocate about ‘Importance of the eco-system, be it ocean or otherwise.’ She wants to strike a balance for the sea creatures, for the universe we live in. To preserve and maintain a lively, healthy universe we need balance. She also wants to talk about women empowerment and how much our world needs that right now.  She is serious about her fitness and workouts everyday to maintain a fit and healthy body. Adelina also ties water workout to maintain her stamina and increase breathing credibility. She is very strong, confident and hard working toward winning the title. She not only wants to be a beauty queen but a role model for the generation that is coming in future and for the ones who are present. Her favorite quote is “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible” by Audrey Hepburn because it depicts her own mindset where she is prepared to accept any challenges that come her way in order to achieve her dreams. Adelina would like to become an actress someday, and in order to get there, she believes in staying humble, and being kind to all living things, both humans and animals.

Meme Yaw (Meme) from Sabah

Meme is 25-years-old and stands 169cm tall. She works as cabin crew member and is a decedent of Chinese- Indonesian parentage. Her job as a cabin crew has given Meme a wonderful opportunity to travel all over the world and learn about their cultures and traditions. She aspires to own a business one day in order to support her family and have the freedom to explore the world. She somewhere feels responsible because she is the eldest out of the five siblings and cannot afford to ignore that fact, she has some duties to fulfill. With Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 pageant, Meme wants to gain experience and a medium to work on herself and elevate Malaysia’s name as a powerhouse all over the world. Meme’s advocacy is about ‘fair education’; drawing experiences from her personal life, Meme wants to use the platform to advocate and raise awareness about the unfair education system in Malaysia. She wants to take up this issue into people’s mind so that no one forgets that every child no matter what background they are from, they shouldn't be discriminated when it comes to education. They too deserve the chance to make different in their life. She also spoke a little about the unfair citizenship issue in Malaysia.

 

Meme Yaw (Meme) from Sabah

 

Quinn Fung (Quinn) from Pahang

Quinn is 24-years-old and stands 168cm tall with degree in music. The diva has always dreamt of being a music teacher and a beauty queen in order to inspire and be a good role model for the people. Quinn aspires to be a successful entrepreneur some day and develop her own line of beauty products.  The diva who has travelled various countries and met a lot of people in her life is very adaptable to the environment of a new place. She likes to talk to different people in order to know about their culture, language and traditions which is reflected in her music eventually. The diva wants to gain experience through Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 pageant to step out of her comfort zone and build up her confidence for the future projects. She would like to encourage more people to take up the practice of re-cycling and stop using plastic because that it is harming the environment to a level we can’t understand. Quinn’s advocacy is ‘Going Green’; to urge people to stop using plastic and switch to re-cyclable products. The diva is fluent in English, Italian and Mandarin.

Louisa Ananthan (Louisa) from Kuala Lumpur

Louisa is 22-yearold and stands 170cm tall and is pursuing bachelor’s of Law. She explains that it has taken a lot of courage and motivation for her to participate in Miss Universe Malaysia 2020. She has a warm personality and is loved by everyone in a group of people She is easy to be around with and is a trained ballet dancer. Along with being a student, beauty queen and trained ballet dancer; Louisa loves to travel and bake. She is very hardworking and discipline who lives by a quote “I always believe I can beat the best, achieve the best. I always see myself in the top position,” by Serena Williams because it reminds her that in any situation, she is more than capable of achieving her goals when she puts her mind to it. Louisa’s advocacy is ‘education for Orang Asli people in Malaysia’. Many of them want a bright future and however they do not have the opportunity we “modern Malaysians do”. She believes that everyone deserves the right to education and one’s background or difficulties should not be in the way of it because education is key to a better living. Hence, something so crucial like education should not be any less of an opportunity to the Orang Asli people as it is for the rest of the Malaysians.
