Miss Universe Myanmar 2020, the 8th edition of the pageant, was held tonight i.e. 30th December 2020 at Novotel Max Hotel, Yangon where Thuzar Wint Lwin of Hakha was crowned the new queen. She succeeds Miss Universe Myanmar 2019 Swe Zin Htet and will now represent Myanmar in Miss Universe 2020.
Thuzar Wint Lwin, nicknamed Candy Thuzar, was a front-runner for the national crown ever since the beginning of the competition. The 22-year-old stunner is a final year student in English from East Yangon University. She is a model by profession.
The newly crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2020 Thuzar Wint Lwin’s court included –
1st Runner-up – Han Lay
2nd Runner-up – May Thazin Oo
3rd Runner-up – Racheal
4th Runner-up – Mya San Thidar
5th Runner-up – Naw Christine
The delegates, apart from the winner and her court, who made it to Top 10 were Eaint Chue Thar, Phyu Thant Chaw, Khin Yu Lwin and Soe Yadanar Tun. These ten ladies were chosen from the sixteen contestants who walked the ramp at the finale tonight.
A number of special awards were also presented at the finale as Han Lay was awarded with Miss Beautiful Smile award. Our winner Thuzar Wint Lwin won four special awards including Miss Photogenic, Miss Healthy Skin, Miss Dentiste Award and Best in Evening Gown award. Eaint Chue Thar won the Best National Costume award while Naw Christine won the Let Me Choose award and entered Top 6 directly.
The sixteen delegates who competed for the crown were Soe Yadanar Htun, Khin Yu Lwin, Eaint Chue Thar, Phyu Thant Chaw, Naw Christine, Racheal, Han Lay, Mya San Thidar, May Thazin Oo, Thuzar Wint Lwin, Yu Htay Thwel, Engyin Phoo, Khine Nyein Htet, Yoon Ei Khai, Theint Nadi and Yoon Kay Khaing.
