Miss Universe New Zealand 2017 is on its road to the finale and is scheduled to be held on 12’Aug 17. There is a total of 20 contestants in the 2017 edition of Miss Universe New Zealand. The candidates are getting ready for the finale by undertaking productive sessions and activities.

In addition to preparing for the finale, in the beginning, the finalists headed towards Thailand (Thavorn Beach Village & Spa, Phuket) with the reigning Miss Universe New Zealand. They roamed around Thailand and went to the night markets, where exotic food was the highlight.

The whole experience at Thailand was rejuvenating as the finalists learnt about the culture as well as the authenticity of the country. The visit to the turtle sanctuary at Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas was quite thrilling. The ladies fed the turtles, which were well aware when the meal time is. They all had a gala time over the place.

The girls were also treated with a memorable five-star dinner with some amazing views of Phuket. Flying Hanuman zip line in Phuket was something to look out for as some of the contestants were very comfortable with doing the adventurous sport.

Spirituality is the key to peace! The alms-giving to five Buddhist monks from the Dhammakaya Temple Thailand was the best thing the contestants went through. Some finalists attended a meditation session as well.

The trip to Andaman was worth remembering as well. The team at Andaman took the finalists for a cruise to Phang Nga Bay, well known for its use in the 1974 James Bond 007 film and The Man with the Golden Gun. Travelling by speedboat at over 60 km/h thrilled them. They enjoyed swimming and exploring the limestone caves and the moviesque landscapes of Phang Nga Island. The other day, the finalists went out to Maiton Island for swimming and relishing delicious food.

The activities are going on a full swing as the contestants want to showcase the best on the ramp before the finale night. Tania Pauline Dawson, Miss Universe New Zealand 2016, will crown her successor at the conclusion of the finale and the winner will represent New Zealand in Miss Universe 2017.
