Waiving off all the rumours and shutting all the negative feedbacks, the Miss Universe Organisation has finally confirmed that the 2016 pageant will be held in the Philippines. While there has been no official announcement from the MUO, a letter from the organization was sent to the National Directors confirming the venue and date.

As per the sources, the finale of Miss Universe 2016 is slated to be held on 29th January 2016 (30th January in Philippines). The letter informed that the Miss Universe contestants should arrive in the Philippines by 13th January. The Philippine Tourism Officials have time and again re-assured that the finale will be held in the Philippines and has repeatedly waived off all the rumours about the cancellation of the event.

The contestants this year will get to witness the scenic beauty of the Southeast Asian country, which includes visiting some important tourist attraction. For the third time, Philippines will be hosting the Miss Universe pageant - First was in the year 1974, and then in the year 1994.

The reigning Miss Universe is Pia Wurtzbach of Philippines. At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Universe 2016, Pia will pass on her reign and her crown to her successor.
