Solaris Barba crowned Miss Universe Panama 2022

Señorita Panamá organization announced Solaris Barba as the new Miss Universe Panama 2022 and will represent her country at Miss Universe 2022. Solaris succeeds Brenda Smith Miss Universe Panama 2021 for the title.

Barba hails from Arraiján and graduated in 2016 from Instituto Justo Arosemena with a specialization in business and is currently studying marketing and international business.



On being crowned Miss Universe Panama 2022, Solaris took to her official social media as she wrote, “Today officially marks the beginning of a path full of change and hope for all, this is the moment to break a pattern in the contests, truly celebrating women. Not only to its beauty but to its essence and the strength that transcends facing fears to touch hearts through dreams.”

“From the bottom of my little heart, I thank you immensely to each of the souls that have been part of the path that led me. brought here and what continues from it. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU all for the support your words and messages I always carry with me. Thank you, Miss Universe Panama, for opening the doors for me to together carry the name of our land on high. Panama we will achieve this together”, she added.

Also at the finale, Alina Reyna was adjudged as the first runner-up and Adaluz Perea was adjudged as the second runner-up.



Representing Herrera, Barba was crowned Miss World Panama 2018 at the Señorita Panamá 2018 held on 7th June 2018 at the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama City, succeeding Julianne Brittón. In December 2018, she represented Panama at Miss World 2018 in China in December, where she was one of the Top 12 semi-finalists and was awarded the title Miss World Americas 2018, the highest placement achieved by a Panamanian up to that date.
