Miss Universe Philippines 2021 delegate Maureen Wroblewitz is busy preparing for her national stint as the finale is all set to be held on 25th September 2021. Although Maureen has shown exemplary dedication towards her goals, she recently opened up about struggling with depression and anxiety.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Maureen shared pictures from her short trip to Pangasinan she took as a break for her own mental health. She wrote, "You only see what I post on social media but what I don't show are the challenges I go through every day. I have realized that in this new journey of mine I have been my worst competitor, I have always been. I pressure myself to improve but it only hurts me."

"It is okay not to be okay, it is okay to be sad and cry, it is okay to feel unmotivated and unproductive. We need to acknowledge what we are feeling and know that all our feelings are valid. A lesson I have learned the hard way", she added.

Maureen regrets not being open about her mental health because she was embarrassed earlier. She also wrote that she wants people suffering through anxiety and depression that they are not alone. Maureen also expressed the importance of gratitude, especially during difficult times.

"I have even learned to make peace with my past experiences and not to dwell on them. Instead I like to thank them for making me the person that I am today. The strong, kind and beautiful person that I am," she said.
