Miss Universe Philippines 2022, the 3rd edition of the Miss Universe Philippines, will be held on 30th April 2022 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. Beatrice Luigi Gomez of Cebu City will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

Marilit Katipunan Iligan has made it to Top 50 at the national competition representing Negros Oriental. Marilit is 21 years of age and considers herself versatile, capable and self-driven.

Iligan is no stranger to beauty pageants as she was hailed Miss Sibulan 2018, and a year later, she joined Miss Silliman and garnered two major awards representing the College of Business Administration. She wishes to be the voice of the muted and be the strength of the deprived.

"I am looking forward to being optimistic together with my humble team and continue to be hopeful to be one of the chosen official candidates for MUPH 2022 and represent our beloved pride, Negros Oriental. I am crossing my fingers to amplify my voice and create a wider scope as I continue on implementing my advocacies and projects," she quotes.

The stunning beauty is a graduating senior taking up BSBA Major in Operations Management. She is passionate about her advocacy on HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) awareness and even the value of indigenous young women.

Marilit is the sole proprietor of Maryleigh, a Dumaguete-based beauty and apparel concept store that she launched in November 2017. She will definitely be a strong contender for the national crown if she keeps up her hard work and determination.
