Miss Universe Philippines 2022, the 3rd edition of the Miss Universe Philippines, will be held on 30th April 2022 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. Beatrice Luigi Gomez of Cebu City will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

Louise Nicole Dabu has made it to the Top 50 at the national competition representing La Union. The 25 year-old diva is an aspiring fashion designer and is also an artist. Louise recently gained spotlight with her introduction video drew flak for one of her statements.

In her intro video challenge entry, Dabu shared a ‘funny secret’ about her, "I eat like a construction worker but I never get fat.” Dabu drew criticism for her statement, with online users saying it demeans the profession and fails to celebrate the diverse body types of women.

Dabu, in no time, went ahead to release an apology statement as she wrote, “It was in no way meant to discriminate, stereotype, or offend this noble and respectable profession.” Dabu also hopes that she can turn things around amid the controversy. "I have learned lessons from it which I will take throughout my Miss Universe Philippines journey. I hope we can all move on together," she said.

Amidst the controversy and criticism, the diva has been strong and determined towards her journey and is definitely a hardworking, confident and passionate delegate for the crown.
