Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2019 held its preliminary competition yesterday night at the Convention Center of Puerto Rico where twenty eight ladies showed their potential to the jury for the first time before the finals. Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2018 Kiara Liz Ortega was also present at the occasion to be a guide for the ladies.

Amidst loud applause and appreciation, the contestants stepped on the stage in their swimsuits and evening gowns in front the panel of jury. The jury comprised of Peter Cardón, Lucien Gigante, Karlo Karlo, Piro Ortega, Walesca Miranda, María María, and Carlos Matta who were in charge of selecting the 15 semi finalists whose name will be announced on the finale night.

The authenticity, silhouette, the catwalk and other mastered projections on the stage were due to the heavy hard work of the professionals behind the camera who taught these beautiful girls for the preliminary night. Actor Julián Gil and the model and presenter Ivonne Orsini were the hosts for the evening and kept the audience entertained.

A number of special awards were also given at the competition - Miss Toa Baja 2019 - Best Runway, Miss Villalba 2019 Vivianie Díaz - Total Look, Miss Arecibo 2019 Sarahí Figueroa -  Best hair, Miss Dorado 2019 - Best skin, and Miss Culebra 2019 Bianka Torres -  Miss Amistad award.

The score achieved by the delegates in this preliminary event will be added to the individual interview through which the semi-finalists will be selected for the gala night of Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2019 to be held on 13th June 2019 at the Luis A. Ferré Fine Arts Center, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
