Will Krystal Badillo follow in the footsteps of her predecessor Nellys Pimentel at Miss Earth 2020?

Krystal Badillo was appointed Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2020 in May 2020 by the organization as she became the official representative of Puerto Rico at Miss Earth 2020. The organization did not hold a national pageant this year due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

After Nellys Pimentel’s stellar performance at Miss Earth 2019 and winning the prestigious crown for her country for the first time, there sure is a lot of pressure riding on her to rise to the occasion at Miss Earth 2020.

Krystal Badillo adjudged as Miss Earth Puerto Rico-Air 2019 at the last year’s national pageant. She is 24 years of age and stands 170 cm tall. A registered nurse, Krystal is not new to the pageantry as she had previously participated in Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2018 where she represented Canóvanas but unfortunately, couldn’t win. After that she participated in Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2019 where she earned her big win.

Krystal likes to spend her time in nature as she explains nature gives her peace and involuntary smile. She believes that if an individual is ready to give their best into something, there is nothing in world that can stop them from having it. She has also learnt on how we can take advantage of the natural resources that we have in each country.

Krystal also advocates about women empowerment because she feels that it is the need of the world today. Krystal’s confidence and determination makes her a strong contender for the title and definitely a potential contestant to win Miss Earth crown. If Krystal wins Miss Earth 2020, Puerto Rico will become the second country to win Miss Earth pageant consecutively after Philippines won twice in a row in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
