Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2021, the 65th edition of Miss Universe Puerto Rico, will be held on 30th September 2021 at Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center in San Juan where delegates from all over the country will compete for the national crown and the opportunity to represent Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2021. Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2020 Estefanía Soto Torres, who placed among the Top 10 of Miss Universe 2020, will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
While this year’s batch boasts of stunning delegates who aspire to win the crown and make the country proud, but there are few divas who have stood out as some of the strongest contenders for the national title. Liana Teresa Morales Sizemore Miss Universe Augadilla 2021
Representing her hometown, Augadilla, 24 years-old Liana works as a professional model and is a graduate from The College of Saint Rose. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, a minor in Spanish, and a certificate in Spanish translation, her greatest professional achievement is to finish her medical degree in pediatrics. She is considered very responsible, organized, social and flexible. Not new to pageantry, Liana was Miss Teen World PR 2014 and was also crowned Miss Teenager 2014.
Sthephanie Marie Miranda Miss Universe Trujillo Alto 2021
The passing Miss Ohio USA 2020, Sthephanie was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and moved to Ohio at the age of five. She is a 26-year-old graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications and said her experiences at YSU helped shape her into the pageant queen she is today. Not new to the world of pageantry, this diva was previously named Miss Ohio Latina 2013, Miss Ohio International 2015 and Miss Latino America in 2018 and made it till the Top 16 at Miss USA 2020. Miranda’s tactic for a successful pageant is to not view the other competitors as competition and to focus on self-improvement.
Johalmi Queliz Miss Universe Añasco 2021
26 years-old Johalmi is a student of Business Administration. She is a professional model and supports the Niños Sonriendo Foundation, a non-profit organization, founded to serve as a link between the communities and the public-private sectors in favor of children. Representing Añasco has been a longed moment for her as she feels fortunate and grateful to carry out this purpose. She believes that when you decide to change your thoughts and expand your world you can discover the very important person you have inside.
Ediris Joan Rivera Miss Universe Carolina 2021
Freelance model and Pharmacy technician, Ediris Joan is representing Carolina at Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2021. She is also the founder of ‘We Bloom’, a group made to inspire, empower and connect and promote self-love. Joan believes in hardwork and shared how grateful and happy she is for this experience that has changed her life. She recently visited Mayor José Carlos Aponte to share with the First Municipal Executive her aspirations and goals as the sovereign of Carolina in the pageant.
Jaylene Marie Alvarez Miss Universe San Lorenzo 2021
28 years-old Jaylene completed a doctorate in Pharmacology at the University of Puerto Rico. In 2019, she founded the initiative ‘Science and Heels’, whose mission is to encourage equitable participation of girls and women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The objective is to break the stereotypes that limit the dreams of women in Puerto Rico, showing them that they have the freedom to choose what they want to be and how far to go.
Astrid Dianet Arroyo Miss Universe Salinas 2021
Salinas’ 26 years-old Astrid is a student of Event Production and Marketing at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazon in Santurce. She works as a certified Artistic Gymnastics Instructor and is a professional DJ. Since she was little, she liked to advocate for inclusion, which is why, she supports the Down Syndrome Foundation of Puerto Rico, for which it seeks to raise funds so that they continue to impact more people with functional diversity.
Dalymar Villanueva Miss Universe Guaynabo 2021
Dalymar is a 23 year-old student of Pedagogy at the University of Puerto Rico and is currently working as a teacher in a preschool. She is a part of ‘Alas a la mujer Inc.’, a non-profit foundation that offers support to women who are experiencing crisis situations due to domestic violence, poverty or sexual assault. Dalymar wants to support these women who need to be heard and carry a message about the need to speak out about their situation because they will be heard.
Oxana Isabel Rivera Miss Universe Dorado 2021
Dorado's representative, Oxana Rivera who is 27 years of age. Although Rivera was born in Russia, the young woman arrived with her twin brother in Puerto Rico when she was just 13 years old, after a Puerto Rican couple adopted them. The diva inspired with her story at the press presentation and has been proving to be a strong contender ever since. Oxana is fluent in Spanish, English and Russian. What motivated her to participate in this edition was to carry the message that, "no matter where you come from, the most important thing is where you are going. I never thought I was going to be successful because of all the life situations that came my way, but I want to let people know that it is possible.”
Michelle Marie Colón Miss Universe Loiza 2021
Michelle is 20 years old, from Bayamon, and is a Biology and Pre-Medical student, as well as the founder of the C.A.R.E. Empowering Program. Michelle is a proud Puerto Rican, Afro-descendant, and Caribbean woman who has embraced herself as a powerful young woman and is looking forward to representing Puerto Rico in an international competition. Michelle decided to enter for Miss Teen World Puerto Rico 2017, and later proclaimed herself as Miss Teen Americas Puerto Rico 2018. She believes that dedication, discipline beats brilliance and giftedness and is optimistic about things in life. Michelle believes that she has the abilities and skills to be able to win the crown and represent Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2021.

Heilymar Rosario Velázquez, who was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2016, is 25-years-old and stands 175 cm tall.
