05 Mar 2021 | Ana Walia

The organization of Miss Russia has announced Alina Sanko as the official representative of Russia for Miss Universe 2020 scheduled to take place on 16th May 2021 in Hollywood, Florida, USA at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The announcement was made via Miss Russia Organization’s social media page.

Hailing from Moscow, Alina is 22-years-old and stands 174 cm tall. She attends the Moscow State University of Land Management, where she is studying architecture. She is passionate about beauty pageants and prior to entering the beauty pageant world, Alina had worked as a model for an online catalogue. Alina is fond of arts as drawing is her passion. She expresses her thoughts, emotions, feelings, and mood through her work.

The organization stated, “We believe in the success of our winner at the international level and will root for Alina from the bottom of our hearts!” The diva is excited and feels honoured to represent Russia at Miss Universe 2020 and has already started to prepare for the competition. The diva took to her social media to thank everyone and stated, “I dreamed of getting to this contest and I am very grateful for this opportunity!  In the next two months, I will actively prepare for the Miss Universe finals! There is a lot to do. I really love this exciting period before international competitions, which, I hope, this time will also be crowned with a worthy result. For my part, I will make every effort to represent Russia at a high level! Friends, your support is very important to me!”

Not new to the pageantry, Alina represented Azov at Miss Russia 2019. Alina was given the opportunity to represent Russia in both Miss World 2019 and Miss Universe 2019, however, due to conflicting dates she only competed in Miss World. At Miss World 2019, Alina competed with absolute grace and finished in Top 12.

She explains that to keep herself in good shape and good mood, she needs walks in the fresh air and, if possible, in picturesque places, since this is both movement and contemplation. She aspires to maximize her potential, creative abilities, travel around the world, improve and work on herself. On asking about what is her success mantra is, Alina stated, “You just need to be yourself.”

Last year, Russia did not send a representative at Miss Universe but Alina’s appointment has received with a lot of appreciation and applauses as she seems like an ideal candidate to represent the country at Miss Universe. With her experience, knowledge, and dedication she can be one of the strongest contenders. Alina’s artistic ability, confidence and her determination will be the sheer force to guide her towards performing to the best of her ability at Miss Universe 2020.

Congratulations queen!
