Luiseth Materán was been designated, by the Miss Venezuela organization, as Miss Universe Venezuela 2021 and will now be representing Venezuela at the upcoming Miss Universe 2021. The announcement was made on July 2nd in Portada’s by the presenters Ange Unda and Jose Andres Padron. Materán was appointed by the Beauty Committee, made up of Nina Sicilia, Jacqueline Aguilera and María Gabriela Isler.
This year the Miss Venezuela organization decided to only appoint the new representative for the 70th Miss Universe competition. The official Miss Venezuela 2021 pageant will be held in October and the winners will represent Venezuela at the 2022 international pageants.
The organization took to their social media to share the official news as they wrote, “Venezuela: We have a new queen! With great enthusiasm we announce that the beautiful Luiseth Materán has been designated today as Miss Universo Venezuela 2021 and will represent our national tricolor in the upcoming contest of Miss Universe. It fills us with great satisfaction to know that Luiseth will fulfill her dream of representing Venezuela, with great pride and commitment.”
The 24-year-old fan favourite, took to her social media to share her happiness, “I must say that it was not easy, I traveled paths full of difficulties and great challenges, but I clung so much to my values ??and who I am, that today I can say that all the effort to overcome them was worth it. To you Venezuela, thank you for trusting me as your representative, for considering me your queen. My heart is only filled with gratitude towards you. I promise to work tirelessly and with the commitment that you all deserve, to once again leave the name of our country very high. This title is not mine, it belongs to all of Venezuela!”
Luiseth revealed that she knew she would be the new Miss Universe Venezuela 2021 for a few days and that this has been the best kept secret of her life. She officially began her journey by signing the appointment contract and joining the Venevison family.
"We have made the decision to directly designate a candidate from last year for the new Miss Universe pageant adhering to the selection options offered by the same international organization and taking into account the final evaluation that the participants had. For us it is very important that the representative of our country can feel safe and confident, and this will allow us to plan in advance and honor the minimum preparation times that are necessary," explained Gabriela Isler, Director of Communications and Training for Miss Venezuela on the decision.
The diva also expressed gratitude and thanked God, her supporters, family and friends for their unconditional support and assured the country to give her best and make them proud. Ever since the organization hinted on appointing a new representative, Luiseth emerged as the ideal and most loved choice for the title.
During the 2020 edition of Miss Venezuela, Luiseth stood out for being a charismatic, sensitive and eloquent young woman, attributes that, together with her beauty, made her one of the participants most appreciated by the qualifying jury and by the public that supported her through digital platforms. Having also received the special award as Miss Solidarity showed how committed she was to the distance training process that was experienced due to the contingency caused by COVID-19.
Venezuela is the Power House of beauty, the country with the most beauty titles in the world and some of the strongest delegates over the years. Luiseth is definitely another such delegate as she is strong, self-assured and determined towards excelling in the industry and making her country proud.
