Miss Venezuela 2022, 69th edition of the national pageant, was held yesterday night, i.e. 16th November 2022 where Andrea Rubio of Portuguesa was crowned Miss Venezuela International 2022. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Venezuela International 2021 Isbel Parra and will now represent Venezuela at Miss International 2023.
Andrea Rubio is 23 years of age and holds a degree in Bachelor of Social Communication. She is also a professional model and creator of digital content. Through her reign, Andrea wants to be able to teach all those women or girls who do not know how to take those first steps in modeling industry, who are full of doubts and fears and give them support and become in a guide.
On being asked how she would positively influence the people if she wins the crown, she quoted, “For me, being Miss Venezuela is not just being a beauty queen, it is representing and exalting what it is to be Venezuelan. A Venezuelan woman is a fighter, warm, intelligent and comprehensive. I don't want to be recognized only for being a beauty queen, I would like to be remembered as a woman capable of fighting for her dreams and fulfilling them, that she works to defend her ideals, her purposes and her goals. A woman who helps other women, motivates them to fall in love with themselves and to know how powerful we are.”
The national crown, Miss Venezuela 2022, was awarded to Diana Silva, representing Distrito Capital. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Venezuela 2021 Amanda Dudamel and will represent Venezuela at Miss Universe 2023.
The panel of judges for Miss Venezuela 2022 included Ángel Sánchez – Fashion designer; Ly Jonaitis – Miss Venezuela 2006 from Guárico; María Elena de Olivares – General director of Brucen Venezuela; Mariem Velazco – Miss International 2018 from Venezuela; Mario Aranaga – Fashion journalist; Maritza Pineda – Miss Venezuela 1975 from Nueva Esparta; Sócrates Serrano – Actor; Valerie Frangie – Creative director; Sybil Caballero – Director of Venture and Fellowship at Ashoka Region Andina; Arianna Casadiego – Marketing director of Samsung Venezuela; Toto Aguerrevere – Writer.
