Mariem Claret Velazco García crowned Miss International Venezuela 2018 at the conclusion of Miss Venezuela 2017 held at Caracas, Capital District on Thursday, 9th November 2017. She succeeds Miss International Venezuela 2017 Diana Macarena Croce García. Mariem will now represent Venezuela in Miss International 2018. At the same event, she won the award of Most Photogenic as well.
She is 19 years of age and stands tall at 178 cm. A student of Geophysical Engineering currently, she loves to play tennis and also takes piano lessons. Mariem is originally from Tiger province and represented Barinas in this competition.
Mariem was a favourite among many from the beginning itself. In fact, people mainly predicted her victory for the same title only, because of her international looks and excellent personality. She believes that in life, “There will always be someone who appreciates your existence and the way you lead your life.”
In the finale event, there were many celebrity musicians present as well namely, Chyno Miranda Sixto Rein, Juan Miguel, Aran, Arvelaiz, and Jonathan Moly. The main presenters in the competition were Mariángel Ruiz, Mariela Celis, Henrys Silva, and Dave Capella. Shirley Varnagy presented the famous question and answer round to the Top 5 girls.
Her court includes Sthefany Yoharlis Gutiérrez from Delta Amacuro crowned Miss Venezuela 2017 and Miss Venezuela World 2018 Veruska Betania Ljubisavljevic Rodríguez from Vargas. First Finalist was Biliannis Álvarez (Falcón) and Second Finalist was Megan Beci (Amazonas).
