Miss World 2018 is going to host its grand finale on 8th December 2018 in Sanya, China and the followers of this prestigious beauty pageant are getting more and more impatient to watch their favourite contestant win the title and get the crown. The delegates, on the other hand, are working really hard to win.
The Head to Head Challenge is a platform in Miss World that started last year and is broadcasted globally. The viewership of this Challenge is in thousands and loved by all. This year the contestants have been divided into 20 groups, and compete with each other. The winner of each segment gets a direct place in the Top 30 of Miss World.
The Top Model and Designer Award was held yesterday which obviously involved a lot of glitz and glamour. The competition was divided into three segments. The first one was the Miss World Designer World Award. In this competition, all the contestants dazzled in dresses that were custom created for them. The official social media page of Miss World Organization described the segment as a very dramatic one.
The delegates who made it to the Top 5 were Miss World Portugal 2018 Carla Rodrigues, Miss World China 2018 Mao Peirui, Miss World South Africa 2018 Thulisa Keyi, Miss World Malaysia 2018 Larissa Ping Liew and Miss World Thailand 2018 Nicolene Pichapa. After much thought, the judges declared joint winners in the Miss World Designer Award, namely South Africa and People’s Republic of China.
The second segment was the live catwalk where all the contestants did their best to catch the eye of the judges and become the favourite of the audience. After a lot of deliberation, the Top 32 delegates were selected, out of which the Top 30 would proceed to the third and finale segment of the competition. Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle who is also the current Beauty with a Purpose Ambassador, graced the audience with her beautiful presence and presented Maëva with the Miss World 2018 Top Model award. The winner was looking mesmerising as she wore a red strapless dress, with a structured bodice. The colour of her dress signified the China’s hospitality and the Miss World Organization described the dress as an amalgamation of elegance and sophistication, perfect for the Top Model award. Maëva has now secured a position in the Top 30 finalists of Miss World 2018.
