Miss World 2019 is all set to host its coronation night 14th December 2019 in London, UK. The delegates are putting their best foot forward for holding onto a strong position in the competition. The Head to Head Challenge of Group 11 was held on 30th November 2019 in London where the beauty queens from Colombia, Netherlands, Japan, Costa Rica, Nigeria and Luxemburg discussed about their “Beauty with a Purpose” project as they introduced themselves in the competition.
The Head to Head Challenge is presented by Miss World 2016 Stephanie de Valle and reigning Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de Leon. The Miss Worlds provide the audience with in-depth information about the delegate as well their Beauty with a Purpose project. The delegates’ introduction videos were shown and then Vanessa asked them some questions related to their project. The divas answered the questions very gracefully and firmly.

Let’s look at the delegates of Head to Head Challenge Group 11 –
Sara Arteaga Franco Miss World Colombia 2019
Sara Artega is representing Colombia for the title of Miss World 2019. Sara is a businesswoman and has her own clothing line. For her “Beauty with a Purpose” project, Sara picked up a topic that she relates to. Coming from a country like Colombia where the kids and elder people do not have much education, Sara wants to create awareness among the people about how much education is important. She has collaborated with few people from Antioquia where they have set up a digital school for all the students (kids and elderly people) who wants education but cannot afford it. It’s free education for all.
Brenda Felicia Muste Miss World Netherlands 2019
Brenda Felicia is representing Netherlands for the title of Miss World 2019. She’s a talented belly dancer who does social work with the elderly and for the elderly. She was very close to her grandmother as she started to explain that her grandmother was born during World War II with her eight brothers and sisters and they grew up with a feeling of belonging together; she has the same feeling. For her “Beauty with a Purpose” project, Brenda mentioned that it is cold strung together. She further explains that after her grandmother moved to a nursing home, she understood the importance of emotional connection within care organizations. She volunteers and collaborated with organizations to help elders with Dementia and depression and plans to create a sustainable happiness and awareness. Brenda also mentioned that she is an ambassador of girl project which helps with anti-bullying and education campaigns. She sounded very confident and determined with her project and wants to make a strong impact on the world.
Malika Sera Miss World Japan 2019
Malika Sera is representing Japan for the title of Miss World 2019 in London. Malika mentions that just like Malala Yousafzai, she wants to become a member of UNICEF where her father is working as well. Her “Beauty with a Purpose” project is plastic waste. The delegate believes that Japan as a nation should come out as a strong example against the plastic pollution but Japan produces second most plastic in the world. To tackle this situation, Malika has induced 3Rs (Reduce, Recycle and Reuse) in her day to day activities. She gave an example where she mentioned that she used candy packages for her cosmetic pouches. Malika strongly believes that younger generation will be more interested in politics and social problems and they will find ways to stand up against the social problems and bring the much-needed change in the world.

Jéssica Jiménez Muñoz Miss World Costa Rica 2019
Jessica Jimenez is representing Costa Rica for the title of Miss World 2019 on 14th December 2019 in London. Jessica’s “Beauty with a Purpose” project is related to discover the inner power of a person as the diva strongly believes that everybody is looking for something and the journey of looking for that one thing that makes you feel complete shouldn’t stop. The delegate explains that she has tried everything from learning languages to working at a pharmacy to studying medicine to working with a foundation where she worked with kids, prisoners, people with disability, to acting, writing and working as a missionary. But at this stage of life, she feels complete. She wants to give out a message which clearly says that “you’re extraordinary and powerful”. She wants everyone to take some time to discover all the energy and power you have inside.
Nyekachi Douglas Miss World Nigeria 2019
Nyekachi Douglas is representing Nigeria for the title of Miss World 2019 in London on 14th December 2019. The delegate is public health student at the University of South Florida. The diva in her introduction video explains that while she was growing up, life was a little difficult but she has always kept her head high and determined and made her way into the world of success. Nyekachi’s biggest inspiration is her mother and sister. Her “Beauty with a Purpose” is personal hygiene. Nyekachi is a public health major student and she wants to bring in the change in the sector of personal hygiene. According to Nyekachi, Makoko community which is also known as the world’s largest floating slums is sidelined and the children of the community are ignored. Drawing examples from her personal experiences, the diva wants to bring the much-needed attention towards the children of the Makoko community because she firmly believes that they are passionate about a lot of things in life but they are ignored. The diva wants to collaborate with organizations with who she can hold school, activities and concerts for the children of the community. She wants to make children understand that they can be the stars they look on screen.
Mélanie Eileen Heynsbroek Miss World Luxembourg 2019
Melanie Heynsbroek is representing Luxemburg for the title of Miss World 2019 in London. She aspires to become a pediatric nurse in the future and would use her prominent position to help children. Melanie’s “Beauty with a Purpose” project is related to the exploitation against the children. Melanie explained that she has travelled a lot in her life and during her travel visits she has met a lot of children who are malnourished, works twice as harder and are not given the education they need. She wants everyone to understand that problem like this exist for real. To help the children she organized a fund-raising event and with the support of her school, she sent a package for the children in Tanzania which included food, clothes, toys and some necessities. She also mentioned that she bought a sports shelter home in Ukraine for the children. She urges people to help in whatever way they can and just have a good heart.
