Miss World 2019 delegates make a noteworthy mark in Head to Head Challenge (Group 12)

The Head to Head Challenge of Group 12 was held on 2nd December 2019 in London where the beauty queens Jamaica, US Virgin Islands, Turkey, Slovenia, Belgium and Panama spoke about their “Beauty with a Purpose” project as they introduced themselves in the competition. The coronation night for Miss World 2019 is on 14th December 2019 in London, UK. The delegates are strong, firm and very dedicated towards the winning of the competition.

Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de Leon who is also the presenter of Head to Head challenge provides the audience with in-depth information about the delegate as well their Beauty with a Purpose project. The reigning Miss World 2018 is also joined by Miss World 2016 Stephanie de Valle for presenting the Head to Head Challenge. The delegates’ introduction videos were shown and then Vanessa asked them some questions related to their project.

Let’s look at the delegates of Head to Head Challenge Group 12 -

Toni-Ann Singh Miss World Jamaica 2019

Toni- Ann Singh will be representing Jamaica for the title of Miss World 2019 in London on 14th December 2019. Toni is a student of psychology and women studies with hopes of one day becoming a medical doctor. Toni is very close to her family as she gets onto explain that she is basically the glue of the family and she is very blessed. Talking about her “Beauty with a Purpose” project, Toni mentioned that it is related to realizing the benefit of family and having all these strong women come around you and help you grow as a person and break the stereotypes. Just like strong women Toni had in her life, she wants to be role model for the young women. She is working with the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation and the truth of descendant of two women who had children in their teenage year. With the foundation, Toni works for providing educational opportunities for the women, fund them as they want to equip, empower and engage them. The foundation and Toni talk about mental health with the woman and prepare them for the future. They are working to build up a skill center for the women.

Miss World US Virgin Islands 2019 A’yana Phillips

A’yana Phillips is representing US Virgin Island for the title of Miss World 2019 on 14th December 2019 in London. In her introduction video, A’yana shows that her territory of USVI is known for white sand beaches, unforgettable coral reefs, green Vernon Hills and delectable ultra-cuisines. Ayana is a DJ by profession and defines it as a learning experience. She believes that once you set up your mind for something you just must do it. With her “Beauty with a Purpose” project, Ayana chose “I am who I am through music”, it focuses on the sustainability of music and art programs amongst her community. She explains that the idea of choosing the music for her beauty with a purpose was from the extracurricular activities that her mother use to put her into. She strongly believes that nothing is so complicated that it cannot be simplified by hard work.

Simay Rasimoglu Miss World Turkey 2019

Simay Rasimoglu is going to represent Turkey at the Miss World 2019 competition that is going to be held on 14th December 2019 in London. Her major is architectural restoration thus, making her extremely interested in history and culture. Simay is working as a restorer and admired to be around history and always learning something new. Talking about “Beauty with a Purpose” project, Simay explains that she wants to create an art school for kids because when she was kid, she didn’t have opportunity to go to an art school. So, she wants to build an art school for the future generation. She strongly believes in power of the woman and wants to do something for her country.

Špela Alic Miss World Slovenia 2019

Representing Slovenia is 22 years old Spela Alic. She is a future social worker and psychotherapist and she has been a volunteer for a long time. She was in Gambia with Slovenian organization: Kids are the world. They wanted to raise the quality of life of people there and wanted to help children in the sector of education. Spela explained that after collecting some stuff including clothes, school supplies, games, medical and technical equipment through a fundraising event she went to Gambia and helped the organization build a school. She started teaching to the children who cannot afford to go to school. Explaining about her “Beauty with a Purpose”, Spela explained that it is working in home of seniors and she also has a charity campaign which provides organizations and shelters with sanitary material. The focus of the volunteering is providing therapy and social responsibility of people with addiction. She also leads a therapeutic group with adolescents dealing with addiction and are staying away home because difficult circumstances.

Elena Castro Suarez Miss World Belgium 2019

Elena Castro Suarez is a proud representative of Belgium for the title of Miss World 2019. She grew up with two different cultures as her father is Spanish and mother is Belgian. She is an avid Flamenco dancer and speaks four different languages. She is very social and wants to work for the United Nations one day. Talking about “Beauty with a Purpose” project, Elena explains that it is an ongoing project in Cambodia where she focuses on raising awareness among the people about the health. She gave an example of one incident that too place with her there; they use the same water for cooking their food from the lake they wash themselves. She is trying to teach them to use water pumps especially when cooking food. The diva along with some children from the village planted vegetables so that they can have some new thing to eat.

Agustina Ruiz Arrechea Miss World Panama 2019

Agustina Ruiz is representing Panama at the Miss World 2019 competition being held on 14th December 2019 in London. She feels that arts dancing and her inspiration and willingness to serve others has made her realize that each person on this planet has a purpose and matter how difficult at times we always must fight for our dreams until they become our reality. Since a very young age, Agustina was involved in working for social issue as well as cell improvement and self confidence empowerment. Agustina’s “Beauty with a Purpose” project is focused on girls and young woman rights. It is named as “Ray of Light” and since Panama is the second country with most teenage mothers, Agustina tries to induce dancing in their routine so that they can explore themselves and develop self-love. The teenage mothers who feel that their lives have ended after baby are encouraged to go to school, finish their education and make something with their life.
