Miss World 2019 delegates excel in Head to Head Challenge (Group 14)

Miss World 2019 is all set to host its 69th coronation ceremony on 14th December 2019 at the ExceL London in London, UK. The reigning Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce of Mexico will crown her successor at the end of the event. The delegates of Miss World 2019 are going extra mile to keep their position in the competition intact and firm.

The Head to Head Challenge of Miss World 2019 Group 14 includes delegates from Bahamas, Haiti, Botswana, Thailand, India, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de Leon along with Miss World 2016 Stephanie de Valle are the presenters of the Head to Head Challenge. In this, the delegates given the audience a glimpse of their background and later talks about their “Beauty with a Purpose” project.

Nyah Christine Bandelier Miss World Bahamas 2019

Nyah Bandelier is representing Bahamas for the title of Miss World 2019 in London. The presenter and reigning Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de Leon asked Nyah about the Hurricane Dorain that hit the Bahamas and one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes on record. Nyah stated that Hurricane Dorain’s hitting The Bahamas was hard to deal with as it deeply wounded the entire nation, families lost their homes, their loved ones in the hurricane. During the hurricane, the power went out nationwide which just added to their misery.  She mentioned that her “Beauty with a Purpose” is related to the same Hurricane Dorain that hit the Bahamas. She has been raising funds to help the Government restore the damaged properties of the nation. She went onto explain that once the Government rebuilds the schools that were destroyed, she is going to provide them with computers labs, smart boards, playgrounds and with whatever things they need including uniforms, books, pencils etc. Apart from raising funds, Nyah also mentioned that she volunteers for the children who have been through such a traumatic experience so that they can talk to someone and cry on a shoulder if they want to. Nyah explained that she wants to give the children their childhood back.

Alysha Morency Miss World Haiti 2019

Alysha Morency is representing Haiti at the Miss World 2019 competition in London. Alysha is a publicist, fashion designer, and a businesswoman with her own makeup line since July 2019. Alysha mentions that a huge percentage of the sale of her makeup line products goes to her community in Iraq. Every 20% of the sale, goes to the community where Alysha works with young boys and girls to educate them for the betterment of their communities. She also helps in one of the hospitals where they have a lot of sick children but not enough supplies to treat them. Alysha’s “Beauty with a Purpose” is about girls who have been sexually abused. Talking about her traumatic past, Alysha reveals that she had been abused more than once in her life and one of the incidents she remembers was at when she volunteered at YMCA at the age of 14. She wants to help the girls who have been sexually abused to take control of their life back in their hands. She strongly believes that whatever happened to her or the girls she is working with doesn’t define who they are.

Oweditse Fafah Phirinyane (Oweditse Phirinyane Gofaone) Miss World Botswana 2019

Oweditse Phirinyane Gofaone is representing Botswana for the title Miss World 2019 in London. Owediste believes that she can use her voice to make a positive change by bringing peace, cheer and good cheer into the world. Owediste’s “Beauty with a Purpose” project is called “Rough Diamond”, it is about master crafts woman in the rural areas of the eastern part of the Botswana. With a stage like Miss World, Owediste wants to bring the light on these master art crafts women who have been practicing self-taught skills for decades without getting any recognition. She wants to encourage and inspire young people to take interest in the art form.

Narintorn Chadapattarawalrachoat (Grace Narintorn) Miss World Thailand 2019

Narintorn Chadapattarawalrachoat is representing Thailand for the title of Miss World 2019 in London. The diva’s “Beauty with a Purpose” project is “Let me hear you”. Narintorn have been a counselor for internship where she discovered that there is a high rate for people getting defections and suicide. So, Narintorn came up with an idea for people to fight with basic ways to fight depression is to be a good listener as being a listener can help ease depression. She wants to send out a message among people to let people who are dealing with depression talk about their depression as it will help them ease their depression before they go see a professional. Narintorn also states that her project is recognized by Mental Health Department pf Thailand and has her as the brand ambassador.

Suman Ratan Singh Rao Miss World India 2019

Suman Rao is the proud representative of India for the title of Miss World 2019 in London.  In her video, Suman explains that she is a believer of that fact that one should never settle for anything less than what one deserves.  She begins to explain that she is very close to her family and does not hesitate in any manner when it comes to letting them know something because she believes that communication is the key for any successful relationship. Suman’s “Beauty with a Purpose” is “Pragati” which means progress and that’s what she wants for all the women across the world. She starts to state that even though India is progressing at a massive speed and women are walking neck to neck with the men of the society, there are still some sections of the society which doesn’t give any privileges to the women and she wants to change that. She explained that a lot of women in India have a keen desire to make their own living and not just be dependent on their spouses or any family members for their survival. To help these women, Suman approached corporate sector and government sectors to create employment opportunities for the women and creating a world where women feel safe and secure.

Ivana Ladan Miss World Bosnia and Herzegovina 2019

Ivana Ladon is representing Bosnia and Herzegovina at Miss World 2019 competition that is being held on 14th December 2019 in London. Ivana is a student and is currently studying psychology because she likes to work with people. In future, she’d like to work with children. Ivana’s “Beauty with a Purpose” project is called high musical school. She wants to help young children follow their passion and dreams related to music. Along with her Miss Bosnia and Herzegovina organization, Ivana is raising funds to restore the biggest musical school in Tula so that children can find their way to creativity in an institution.
