The Miss World organization has announced that Miss World Africa 2021 Olivia Yace of Cote D’Ivoire was recently acknowledged for her performance and was made honorary citizen of the commune of Cocody. Yace, second runner-up at the 70th Miss World and reigning Miss World Africa has been granted an honorary citizen of the municipality of Cocody.
Olivia Yace, second runner-up at the 70th Miss World and reigning Miss World Africa has been granted an honorary citizen of the municipality of Cocody. Olivia Yace’s second runner-up placement at Miss World 2021 was the highest her country, Cote D'Ivoire has ever achieved in Miss World history.
The Municipal Council of Cocody organised a huge celebration to mark the occasion. The event was attended by Ambassadors, Politicians, traditional chiefs of Cocody and religious leaders. Being honoured, Olivia said, “I pledge to carry this torch high and to work for the influence of Cocody my beautiful city.”
“May all the honor and all the glory go to God for all the bounties and graces to which he allows me to have access. May they all be thanked and may God remember their altruism and their generosity towards me,” she added. Hailing from Yamoussoukro, Olivia is a 23-year-old marketing and management major student and former runway model. She has an already existing popularity, social media following and public appearances.
Olivia’s performance throughout the competition was definitely one of the most consistent and brightest. A proud and grateful Ivorian, Olivia hopes to spread love and bring about a change in the world, one step at a time.
