Dalila Jabri started her pageantry journey last year when she joined the Miss Nordrhein-Westfalens pageant, just for fun. Originally hailing from Hamm, Dalila is currently studying in Bonn and has been busy with various modelling assignments and stints. At the same pageant, Jenny Nagel was adjudged the first runner-up and Alicia Blut was titled as second runner-up. Dalila’s victory has created quite a buzz in the country, as the beauty is of Northern African origin, and still managed to win over European beauties.

Germany has had only one Miss World winner so far. Gabriela Brum was crowned as Miss World in the year 1980 but was later dethroned. It took Germany 30 years to bring a placement when in 2010 Susanna Kobylinski made it to the Top 25 finalists. Miss World was first aired in 1959 by BBC, it gained popularity thereafter and has grown manifolds. In the year 1980, the pageant adopted the slogan Beauty With a Purpose, and added tests of intelligence and personality in order to avoid criticism of objectifying women.
