On 22nd March 2017, the Press Presentation of Binibining Pilipinas 2017 was held, that say the Binibinis sashay the ramp in their respective swimsuits. But, the one question that pondered everyone’s mind was where is Binibini 36 Mae Lanie Chan? Mae Lanie Chan was disqualified by the pageant organizer’s legal team, or BPCI, because of a sexy fashion shoot she did in the past.

When contacted, the organisation did mention that, “We have to take this to the executive committee, so maybe we could get one more girl to replace the one that was taken just to please you people.” We now have a new Binibini 36. 25 year old Gillian Eliza Colcol is the new Binibini 36, who will now be contesting for the title of Binibining Pilipinas 2017.

Gillian, hailing from Antipolo, is a copywriter by profession. She is a graduate in Communication Arts from La Salle College. Standing tall at 5’7”, Gillian is currently working as a copywriter for a local beauty brand whilst doing church volunteer work as a Sunday school teacher. The gorgeous beauty is a product of the Kagandahang Flores Camp.

According to the Organisation, this year’s edition of the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant will give bigger score to the interview portion, a.ka. the Q&A. This has been done to keep up with the new Miss Universe format. Under the new format, the candidates will get to flaunt their ability to articulate themselves under pressure while sharing a thoughtful, well-informed response during Preliminary and Final Competition.
