Miss World Malaysia 1983 Michelle Yeoh wins ‘Best Actress’ at the 80th Golden Globe Awards!

Miss World Malaysia 1983 Michelle Yeoh, who is now a world-class actor, has added another feather to her accomplished cap. Yeoh won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'.

Michelle Yeoh won the ‘Best Actress’ award at the 80th Golden Globe Awards ceremony which was held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Michelle plays Evelyn Wang, a busy mother and laundromat owner who is thrown into an adventure, through multiple universes, in order to save the world from devastation in 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'.

 

 

MicheIle dedicated her award to fellow minority actors in Hollywood, "It's been an amazing journey and an incredible fight to be here today. I remember when I first came to Hollywood. It was a dream come true, until I got here, because, look at this face. I came here and I was told, 'You are a minority.’ This is also for all the shoulders that I have (stood) on, all who came before me, who look like me and all who are going on this journey with me forward”, she quoted.

Michelle’s acting career began in Hong Kong in the 1980s. She became renowned for roles in Hong Kong action films, starring alongside Jackie Chan. Later she became better known, among Western audiences, for roles in the James Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies, her Hollywood debut and Oscar-winning drama, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. She has recently appeared in the blockbusters Crazy Rich Asians and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

 

 

Michelle is, indeed, a huge inspiration for the everyone not only in her country but all over the world who wish to succeed in any industry. Michelle represented Malaysia at Miss World 1983 and went on to become a global personality. Heartiest congratulations to the former beauty queen!
