The Miss World Malaysia organization hosted the 57th edition of the national pageant on 16th October 2021 where 39 stunning delegates from all over the country competed against each other for the national title and an opportunity to represent Malaysia at the Miss World stage. Lavanya Sivaji was crowned as Miss World Malaysia 2021 at the end of the virtual event as she succeeded Miss World Malaysia 2019 Alexis Sue-Ann.

An advocate of health and nutrition for Malaysian indigenous people, Lavanya is a 25 years-old doctor from Taman Seri Gombak, Batu Caves, Selangor, Malaysia. She is the founder of 4Them, an advocacy and charity project focusing on nutrition and health issues of the Orang Asli community in Malaysia.

Lavanya is a graduate from the Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she pursued her medical degree. Not new to pageantry, she was adjudged as Miss Malaysia Indian Global 2019 third runner-up. Miss World Malaysia 2021 Lavanya Sivaji’s court includes –

First Princess – Anya Kimberly

Second Princess – Charissa Chong

Third Princess – Crystal Tung Lu Yie

Fourth Princess – Natalie Ang

After being crowned as the new queen, Lavanya took to her social media to share her gratitude as she wrote, “Thank you very much for all the love you have shown towards me! Congratulations to all finalists of Miss World Malaysia 2021 who made it into top 12 & top 6, we are all winners. Sincere gratitude to everyone who believed in me.”

“I will do my very best & I wish everyone would continuously support me throughout this journey,” she added. In 2019, Miss World Malysia 2019 Alexis Sue-Ann Seow represented her country at Miss World 2019 and with her performance, she placed in the Top 40. This year, Lavanya is all set to represent the country at the Miss World 2021 pageant as she is ready to improve herself in all aspects.

Malaysia is yet to pioneer its win at the Miss World pageant. Miss World 2021 will be the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant to be held on December 16, 2021 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Congratulations queen!
