17 Aug 2020 | Ana Walia

Miss World Philippines 2020 will be held in the month of December where the divas from all over the country will compete for the national title and the opportunity to represent the Philippines at Miss World 2020. The organization will also crown the representative of the Philippines to Miss Supranational from this year.

The organization also announced that the participation of the previous title holders will also be allowed if they are eligible (age) and not crowned Miss World Philippines priorly.

With wish list being prepared for the potential candidate to represent the Philippines at international stage, Jona Sweett has caught our attention for the national title. She is 24-years-old and stands 170 cm tall and has represented Iloilo city at Miss Earth Philippines 2015 where she was adjudged as Miss Philippines Eco Tourism 2015. She has her degree in Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management at Garcia College of Technology.

Prior to winning Miss Philippines Eco Tourism 2015, she had participated in regional pageants and won various awards including first runner-up at Miss Garcia 2014, Miss Founders’ Day 2014, third runner-up at Miss Silka, and first runner-up Mutya ng Pilipinas -Aklan 2014. She describes herself as passionate, optimistic, outgoing, and approachable had aspired to become an international flight attendant and her advocacy during Miss Earth Philippines 2015 was about mangrove planting “to prevent storm surges and limit typhoon damages”. The diva is now an interior design enthusiast but still aspires to represent the Philippines at international stage.

Jona likes to travel with her close friends and family and is always keen on learning new things as she believes that it helps in understanding not only the culture of the place but oneself better. She has been very keen on doing work to raise awareness about mangrove planting but also prepare herself for the future assignmnets or beauty pageants.

The diva believes in spreading kindness, love, and empathy and through her social media platform she urges everyone to do the same. After winning the title of Miss Philippines Eco Tourism 2015, Jona mentioned that she never expected to win as when she participated in the regional pageants she was always adjudged as one of the runners-up and now after winning the title she feels like she has a wider stage to reach out to people and advocate about what she deeply feels is right.

Jona Sweett seems like a potential candidate for representing the Philippines at international stage because she is experienced, steady, self-assured, and positive about herself and her performance. She feels confident on-stage and making the Philippines proud is one of her dream goals and she just loves to model. She makes sure she works hard to maintain her body for any future pageants and on-stage walk and confidence needed for the beauty pageants. The diva can emerge as one of the strongest contenders for the title if she decides to participate.
