The grand coronation of Miss World Singapore 2018 will be held on 14th September 2018 at the Resorts World Theatre, Sentosa Gateway, Singapore. The event will see 10 contestants competing for the national title and the prestigious opportunity to represent Singapore in Miss World 2018.
The winner of Miss World Singapore 2018 will be crowned by Miss World Singapore 2017 Laanya Ezra Asogan at the conclusion. Laanya represented Singapore in Miss World 2017, but unfortunately could not secure a position in the top 40.
Before the finale, Angelopedia has selected the Top 4 contestants who are most likely to win the national title and represent Singapore at Miss World 2018. The three contestants are –
Vanessa Tiara Tay
Vanessa is 24 years of age, and an actress by profession, currently working in TVB (Hong Kong’s TV channel). She is also a student, who is studying theatre at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. During her free time, Vanessa likes to cook and bake. She is into dancing, singing and playing the piano.
Vanessa has had prior experience in the pageant world as well, as she was the winner of Miss Singapore Chinatown 2015 and Miss Singapore Asean 2017. She is also involved with NAFA Theatre. With her experience in the pageant world, and stage presence due to her acting career, she will be giving a tough competition to the other candidates.
Shonalie Raha
Shonalie is an Energy Consultant working with Sun Electric and is 24 years of age. She studied in Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario where she got her degree in Environmental Studies. Shonalie organized a climate conference in Singapore which hosted 150 young people. She was also the manager of the Singapore Eco Film Festival in 2017, a festival that celebrates sustainable environmental solutions.
Shonalie participated in Miss Universe Singapore 2017 where she was one of the Top 20 finalists. With her prior experience in the pageant world and her passion for social and environmental causes, she will certainly shine in front of the judges and make a mark at the finale.
Vanessa Annelise Peh
Vanessa is 24 years of age and is 168 cm in height. She is actress and entrepreneur by profession. She has studied in the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB). She holds a major in Chemistry, and is a Business Finance undergraduate.
Vanessa had also participated in the Miss Singapore Beauty Pageant in 2016. She is multilingual with the ability to speak English, Mandarin, French and Cantonese. Vanessa Peh is into acting, arts and crafts. She was a student in the Royal Academy of Dance in London and learned how to play the piano at ABRSM. With her talents and experience, she has a good chance of winner the national title.
Audrey Chen
Audrey is 24 years of age and an entrepreneur by profession. She had studied Psychology from the University of Winsor in Canada. Audrey shaved off her hair a few years ago to support the patients affected by cancer, while being a contestant in Miss Mermaid International 2016.
Audrey is no stranger to the pageant world a she was the winner of Miss Asia and Miss Mermaid International 2016. She was also the title holder of Miss Singapore 2014. With her experience in different pageants and her passion for different causes, she is surely going to win many hearts.
Singapore is yet to win the title of Miss World. The closest the nation has gotten to the coveted crown was when Miss World Singapore 1983 Kathie Lee Lee Beng was placed on the Top 8 in the finale of Miss World 1983. Angeloepedia wishes the best for all the girls competing for the national title.
