At the grand finale of Miss World Spain 2018 held on 15th September 2018 in Alegría Costa Ballena Hotel (Rota), Amaia Izar was crowned the new queen. She will now represent Spain in Miss World 2018 to be held on 8th December 2018 in Sanya, China.
Amaia Izar from Navarra was crowned by Miss World Spain 2017 Elisa Tulian. Elisa represented Spain in Miss World 2017, but unfortunately she could not secure a position in the finals, but she did secure a position in the Top 20 in the Talent round.
Amaia stands tall with a height of 177 cm. She has been dancing, especially the flamenco, since she was little and also has a lot of knowledge about music since she knows how to play the violin. Apart from her mother tongue, Amaia also knows how to speak Chinese and English fluently.
Amaia is into a lot of volunteering work, which she has been involved in since she was 16 years old. First, she went to Taiwan to volunteer in a camp that helped autistic children, then she volunteered in a dance camp for disabled children and now she volunteers in a centre for people who are at risk of exclusion.
Spain has won the coveted crown once in the past when Miss World Spain 2015 Mireia Lalaguna won the Miss World crown in 2015. We wish Amaia all the very best for her delegacy in Miss World 2018 and hope she brings home the crown this year for her nation.
