The gorgeous Nagma Shrestha has been appointed to represent Nepal in Miss Universe 2017 to be held later this year in USA. She becomes the first Nepalese beauty to represent Nepal in Miss Universe pageant. She was crowned at the celebrations of the 23rd anniversary of Miss Nepal held at Hotel Annapurna in Kathmandu on 23rd September 2017.
Miss Nepal organization, which was founded in 1994, has been organizing the Miss Nepal pageant annually since then and holds the franchise rights for the Miss World, Miss Earth, and Miss International pageants. At the finale of Miss Nepal 2017, Nikita Chandak, Rojina Shrestha, and Niti Shah were selected as the representatives of Nepal for Miss World 2017, Miss Earth 2017, and Miss International 2017 respectively. Now, with the appointment of Nagma, the Big 4 team for Nepal is complete.
Nagma is a known face in Nepal and has earlier competed in several international pageants. She won the Miss Nepal Earth title at the Miss Nepal 2012 pageant and represented Nepal in Miss Earth 2012 pageant. She became the first Miss Earth representative from Nepal to make it to the Top 8 at the finale of Miss Earth 2012. She then competed in World Miss University 2016 in China, where she ended as the third runner-up. She also contested in Miss Eco Universe 2016 pageant held in Egypt, where she won the Best Tourism Video Award.
Nagma, who is a professional model and a TV host, is 25 years of age and stands tall at 5'11". She is also the goodwill ambassador of Childreach Nepal and Ujyalo Foundation.
