Puteri Indonesia 2017 finale concluded on 31st March 2017 with the crowning of Bunga Jelitha as the winner. Bunga is now all set to represent Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant. 25 year old Bunga Jelitha Ibrani is a model by profession. Standing tall at 180cm, Bunga has had her share of experience. She grabbed the 1st Place in Gading Model Search 2005, and represented Indonesia at Asian Model Search 2011 in Singapore. It is her dream to see her parents happy. Bunga enjoys trying new things to bring versatility in life.

The finale of Puteri Indoensia 2017 was not a very smooth one, and not many are happy with the winner. Right after the crowning of Bunga Jeliha, netizens started flooding their views all over the internet on how it was not a fair decision. According to many, there were much more deserving candidates than Bunga, for the title of Puteri Indonesia 2017. Many also raised the criteria of the organisation of selecting the winners. Talking about the criteria, the issue of height was raised and many pointed out that if the organisation is adamant on selecting a winner who is 180cm tall and above, then they should include it in their initial selection level.

Opposing the criteria of going with the tallest girl, netizens said that there were much more deserving candidates who couldn’t make it to the crown because of falling short of the “unsaid height rule”. The finale of Puteri Indonesia 2017 also saw a recreation of Miss Universe 2015 gaffe. During the finale, Bunga Jelitha was initially announced as the second runner-up, but after a while, the hosts corrected the mistake saying there was some sort of technical error. This act of announcing the wrong name was also not approved by the Indonesian fans, who thought this is yet another clichéd way of gaining popularity.

The finale of Puteri Indonesia 2017 was followed by a series of controversy, and it looks like the fans are not happy with the result. At the same pageant, Kevin Liliana of Jawa Barat was crowned Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan (Miss International Indonesia 2017) and Karina Nadila of Nusa Tenggara Timur was crowned Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata (Miss Supranational Indonesia 2017).
